Welcome to Our Class!
Welcome to our class! Elementary school is a time when your child explores their gifts and talents. They are introduced to Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Drama, Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Health and Physical Education and our Catholic Faith.
Your child is becoming a self-directed, independent learner, and soon will discover where his/her true passions lie! Will they love science, geography, math??? What will their strengths be? The journey of learning is never ending..... I assure you, this year will be a wonderful and busy year for your child.
Please read the pages in front of the agenda that describe many of the routines and procedures that are followed at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic School. Our school also has a website, that is available if you click here. As a teacher, I hope to help your children become independent learners that LOVE the journey that life-long learning can bring! I also hope to instill a sense of confidence, interdependence, and excellence in each one of our students. Our personal motto for the class is "Mistakes are opportunities for learning! " Encourage your child to take a risk and try their best! If they ask questions and are curious about the world around them, they WILL become who God wills them to be!
As a parent, your interest in the school program is extremely important. Your encouragement and participation in class events and excursions will help your child develop self-esteem and a positive attitude towards teachers, peers, school and learning. Our parent council is always looking for volunteers to help them with fundraisers, etc. Please call the school if you are interested in helping. The parent- teacher partnership is crucial, and a positive environment will help your child realize and develop his/her full potential. To foster good parent to teacher communication, I will be posting ALL homework, assignments, and other pertinent information on this website. Please monitor this website closely to see everything that your child is learning in school. I use technology a lot during the school day to foster 21st century learning. Mr. Stellato (our principal) also hands out a monthly newsletter to indicate what our whole school is doing. It is important to post his calendar up on your fridge, or in a noticeable area, to remember important school events. Read this newsletter with your child and get involved!
If you would like to contact me, please go to the Contact forms page. Alternatively, If you have any questions for me, the best time to reach me at the school number (416-393-5283) is at our lunch time (11:15-12:15 pm). I look forward to working together this year with you!
