Save Our Planet!

In my opinion, EVERY DAY is EARTH DAY.  We have to take care of our Earth every day.  Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to read books about the environment, and how to take care of it!  I love the Grade 3 Science Curriculum in Ontario, for the simple fact that I can teach Soils in the Environment, and Growth and Change in Plants.

Some ideas to inspire the children to save our planet! 

This video has some great ideas to help kids save the Earth!  It also gave me a wonderful ART idea for class!  We have a reusable scrap paper bin to reduce the garbage we produce in class that will help us with this project!!

Wondergrove is another great YOU TUBE channel that educates children about all sorts of things!

EPIC
Epic is one of my favourite reading sites for children.  It costs $5 a month for kids to use, but an educator can get a free account for their classroom use.  There are HUNDREDS of books about Earth Day, and all sorts of subjects.

Our Stop Motion Projects for Earth Day

This year (2017-2018), we are attempting to do a stop motion video to showcase our learning about Earth Day....if we succeed, I will post the videos on my Google Classroom!!!

Crayola Colour Cycling

 As part of Media Literacy and Earth Day, the students will be watching videos about the Crayola Colour Cycling Program.

To begin, we will watch some videos about Crayola Colour Cycling and students will tell me what they learned from these videos in their Reading Response Journals:
