People and Environments:  Living and Working in Ontario

Learning Goal 3.1;  We will demonstrate an understanding that Ontario is divided into different municipal or regional areas.

Learning Goal 3.2;  We will demonstrate an understanding that political maps, both print and digital, use different typographical styles to indicate different types of places.

Learning Goal 3.3:  We will identify the major land form regions in Ontario and describe the major characteristics that make these land forms unique from one another.

Before we start describing land form regions of Ontario, I would like to discuss what land forms are.  These videos talk about the different land form features in the world.

Hopefully this video expands our student's vocabulary about the different land form features they can find across the world!

Learning Goal 3.4:   We will  identify and describe the main types of employment that are available in two or more municipal regions in Ontario.

Learning Goal 3.5:  We will describe major types of land use and how they take care of our various human needs and wants.

Learning Goal 3.6:  We will compare some aspects of land use in two or more municipalities.

.Learning Goal 3.7:    We will construct print and/or digital maps that show some different land uses, landform regions and/or municipalities in Ontario, using appropriate elements of a map, including standard units of measurement.
